Tasktop Adds Dr. Lee Nackman to Board of Directors

Tasktop strengthens its enterprise IT executive team with addition of industry veteran Nackman

VANCOUVER, June 4, 2013, Tasktop Technologies, the industry leader for ALM integration, today announced the addition of Dr. Lee R. Nackman to its board of directors. Nackman brings senior technical and leadership experience to the Tasktop board, having led major ALM and cloud-based development initiatives for IBM and HP, and having helped initiate Eclipse. Nackman joins the Tasktop board as the company increases its presence with the largest IT organizations in its mission to connect the people, processes and tools needed to create an integrated software lifecycle.

“Given his unparalleled experience in defining the ALM market, Dr. Nackman will be instrumental in helping us deliver the next generation of Software Lifecycle Integration infrastructure and tools,” said Mik Kersten, co-founder and CEO of Tasktop. “We are honored to have Lee join our team and look forward to the critical role that he will play in helping Tasktop, our partners and our customers re-define the software delivery lifecycle.”

Nackman brings extensive experience helping enterprise IT organizations implement and scale ALM initiatives. Most recently, he served as a vice president and general manager at HP, where he ran several product units focused on software development and IT operations excellence. Most of his career was spent at IBM, where for 26 years he held a variety of roles, including vice president for WebSphere Tools and vice president for IBM Rational. He initiated the Eclipse open source tool platform, was a founding member of the Board of Stewards for eclipse.org, and led the development of IBM’s WebSphere Studio tool products. Nackman also worked at Microsoft, where he served as corporate vice president of the Identity and Security Division. Nackman co-authored with John J. Barton the book “Scientific and Engineering C++: An Introduction with Advanced Techniques and Examples,” (Addison-Wesley, 1994) and was a regular columnist for C++ Report. He also has published 50 papers and holds three patents.

“Through my industry experience I’ve seen the problems disconnected ALM tools create in software organizations. Tasktop’s ability to address these problems by integrating the tools and processes that developers and other stakeholders want to use will make a difference,” said Nackman. “I am excited to join Mik, Neelan Choksi, Dave West, Gail Murphy and the Tasktop team to help improve how software is delivered.”
