Tasktop Sync 3.5 Adds VersionOne and Zendesk Support, Enables Agile at Scale

VANCOUVER, BC, April 02, 2014 – Tasktop Technologies (www.tasktop.com), the leader in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and software development tools integration, today announced Tasktop Sync 3.5, the latest release of its Software Lifecycle Integration (SLI) platform. Tasktop 3.5 connects the most popular Agile planning tools with the most widely used enterprise ALM tools. It allows organizations to add more flexibility to an ALM foundation designed for strong governance, creating a large-scale Agile ALM; and/or increase oversight and support for Agile processes.

Tasktop Sync 3.5 significantly improves software delivery by enabling collaboration across the multiple disciplines involved in software development. It offers fully automated enterprise-scale synchronization among some of the most widely adopted tools used in the software development process, allowing team members to share artifacts, while continuing to work within their tools of choice. Tasktop Sync 3.5 further expands the integration options delivered in previous releases with support for Zendesk, the leading cloud-based customer service platform, and VersionOne®, an all-in-one agile ALM platform built from the ground up to support Agile software development. Version 3.5 also updates Tasktop’s support for the latest versions of Atlassian JIRA Agile, CA Clarity Agile, HP ALM/Quality Center, IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC), Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), Rally, ServiceNow® and ThoughtWorks Mingle.

“Organizations seeking to scale Agile practices may already have one, or several, planning tools in use,” said André Girard, Sr. Analyst at VDC Research Group, “but for Agile methods to really work, every stakeholder in the software development lifecycle must be able to collaborate. Integrating the systems they use with the systems their colleagues use, helps teams realize the promise of Agile methods.”

“Tasktop has been a valued partner of VersionOne for several years, supplying our customers with advanced IDE integrations for Eclipse and Visual Studio,” said Paul Culling, Vice President of Alliances at VersionOne. “The launch of the Tasktop Sync connector for VersionOne will provide our customers the ability to integrate with many of the most popular ALM tools, creating a connected, best-of-breed ALM stack that will help further VersionOne’s goal of helping our customers scale agile development faster, easier and smarter.”

"Customer support is a team sport, which is why we are thrilled that Tasktop now enables agents using Zendesk the ability to work seamlessly with their colleagues using Agile and ALM tools," said Eric Shen, Partner/Integrations Manager at Zendesk. "This integration will allow for closer collaboration across an organization and provide quicker solutions for customers."

Tasktop Sync 3.5 includes the first and only Artifact Relationship Management solution for Agile ALM. It also provides advanced capabilities for understanding the interchange of information among teams through enhanced Integration Metrics.

Specifically, Sync 3.5 manages and synchronizes complex relationships among artifacts for teams that are advanced in their use of integration technology. This allows administrators to synchronize precisely the data and relationships desired. Sync 3.5 also delivers real-time browser-based Integration Metrics that provide actionable information about how and when artifacts are synchronized and tools are being used, giving managers greater insight into the collaboration occurring among their teams, and ALM administrators much needed information about the health of the ALM infrastructure.

“Tasktop continues to debunk the myth that large organizations using ALM tools and formal governance are stuck in the old world of software delivery,” commented Mik Kersten, Tasktop Founder & CEO. “We now have support for all leading Agile tools, as well as all leading enterprise ALM tools, giving large organizations the best of both worlds—Agile development with enterprise scale governance, traceability and visibility.”

A Tasktop Sync 3.5 webinar will take place on April 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. PDT/1:00 p.m. EDT. During the webinar, Tasktop CEO, Mik Kersten, and Chief Product Officer, Dave West, will demonstrate the features of this latest release and discuss the concept of “Agile at Scale.” The webinar will be followed by a question and answer session. Registration is required.
