Tasktop Technologies Closes Out Memorable First Half of Fiscal Year 2015

Cites Significant Accomplishments in Staffing, Partnerships, Product Releases, Awards

VANCOUVER, BC, April 30, 2015– Tasktop Technologies, the leader in Software Lifecycle Integration (SLI) and creator of the Eclipse Mylyn open source tool, today announced a highly successful first half (H1) of fiscal year (FY) 2015 for the reporting period Oct. 1 2014 to March 31, 2015.

“We’re excited about the breakneck start to our fiscal year and are heartened by customer response and adoption of our latest offerings,” said Mik Kersten, Tasktop co-founder and CEO. “We’ve made major gains in recruiting world-class staff, evolving existing and creating new Agile/ALM/DevOps partnerships, as well as bringing Tasktop Data to market. And as we’ve matured from an early focus solely on individual developers to one that also fully embraces the enterprise software lifecycle, we’re committed to working with our community to make large-scale lean software delivery a reality.”

Growth
Today, more than one million users employ Tasktop's SLI technology. Spurred by the continued adoption of its products, Tasktop increased global staffing by one-third from January 2014 to January 2015. Today, it has 85 employees and that number is expected to exceed 100 by the end of FY 2015.Tasktop also opened a London, UK, office and expanded its EMEA presence in several markets during this period. In addition, it hired CFO Simon Bodymore, former CFO for Wurldtech Security Technologies, a GE company. Bodymore joined the company after Tasktop completed its Series A round of funding earlier in the year, which was obtained to expand commercial operations.

Partnerships
Tasktop expanded the Tasktop Sync integration network to include a breadth of software development and delivery lifecycle tools that go beyond traditional areas of application lifecycle management (ALM), to also include high-level portfolio planning and help desk tools, among others. In H1 2015, it initiated or strengthened several of these partnerships, and added Tasktop resellers and OEMs:

  • Sodius, a provider of interoperability solutions for systems development with a strong presence in France, became a Tasktop reseller.
  • Recently, VersionOne announced an OEM arrangement with Tasktop through which it will provide Tasktop Dev for VersionOne to its customers.
  • Orasi Software, a quality assurance software reseller and professional services company, partnered with Tasktop around ALM integration.
  • Jama Software, a cloud-based collaborative testing solution used by Global 1,000 companies, announced its Jama Integration Hub, powered by Tasktop.
  • Security Compass, a web/mobile application security firm, announced that its secure software security requirements management tool SD Elements is now part of the Tasktop Sync ecosystem. This follows a similar Tasktop partnership with WhiteHat Security.
  • Tasktop’s strong relationship with Microsoft Corp. was extended, with Tasktop expanding its already substantial support for Microsoft Visual Studio Online and Team Foundation Server (TFS), allowing organizations to ease into developing on and for Microsoft Azure.

Product
Earlier this fiscal year, Tasktop announced Version 4.0, a major product release for the company, which advances the state of integration technology through an updated version of Tasktop Sync, the company’s SLI integration server, and the addition of Tasktop Data, a new product that unlocks software lifecycle data from its application tool silos, and enables the discovery of new insights into the software delivery process.

New: Sync Version 4.2

In addition, the company recently enhanced Sync (Version 4.2) with support for additional test management products, including IBM Rational Quality Manager and Microsoft Test Manager. It has also extended support for the ServiceNow® platform, including ServiceNow PPM and the ServiceNow Software Development Lifecycle.

“To stay competitive, enterprises must consistently improve their software development and delivery processes, increasing their productivity by integrating tools and teams in an efficient manner,” said Mitra Azizirad, general manager of Developer Platform Marketing and Sales at Microsoft. “Tasktop’s support of both Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio Online provides cross-platform development teams a comprehensive ALM solution, enabling them to be streamlined and collaborative throughout their entire development process.”

Awards
In H1 FY 2015, Tasktop announced several accolades. It was recognized by Rocket Builders for the fourth consecutive year and named to its Ready to Rocket Information and Communications Technology list. In addition, founders Dr. Mik Kersten and Dr. Gail Murphy were recognized by the Aspect-Oriented Software Association for having written “the most influential paper from 10 years ago.” Developing that paper, "Mylar: a degree-of-interest model for IDEs," led to Tasktop’s creation.
