Company Sees Major Gains in New Customers, Headcount, More
VANCOUVER, BC, Nov. 5, 2018– Tasktop, the leader in Value Stream Integration, today announced fiscal year (FY) 2018 highlights -- covering the reporting period Oct. 1, 2017 to Sept. 30, 2018.
The company reported 95 percent subscription growth over the previous fiscal year, with major gains in other areas including the following:
- New customer brands from its direct business increased by 25 percent
- Employee headcount grew by 23 percent
According to Neelan Choksi, Tasktop President and COO, “Our Tasktop Integration Hub has taken the market by storm, proving invaluable to the industry in integrating the software delivery toolchain at scale, reducing integration setup by 75 percent and maintenance overhead by 90 percent, thanks to Tasktop’s innovative model-based integration. As a result, we’ve seen dramatic revenue increases and have subsequently invested further in products, employees and our customers. In addition to our people, we continue to invest in the Tasktop Integration Hub, so our customers can use a point-and-click user interface to configure complex integrations with speed and ease, while expanding the visibility into what flows to help organizations remove waste.”
Strengthened Management Team
The company made three major managements additions this past fiscal year, including the following:
- Dominica DeGrandis, the foremost expert in Kanban Flow, joined Tasktop as Director of Digital Transformation, where she is helping grow market awareness of Tasktop within the DevOps community and enabling organizations to better understand, visualize and optimize their value streams.
- DevOps thought leader, Carmen DeArdo, joined Tasktop to head up its Value Stream Management consulting practice. As Senior Strategist, DeArdo is leading efforts to help customers experience project to product transformations.
- Tim Beditz recently joined as Vice President of Operations, where he will create a consistent enablement program for the entire company so that all employees will have the same baseline understanding of the company and help provide experience and business leadership as Tasktop goes to market with new offerings.
Growth
Almost 500 organizations in industries such as healthcare, financial services, travel, government/public sector, transportation, telecommunications, oil and gas, education, retail and automotive, among others, became new customers this past year. In fact, its customer rolls include 43 of the Fortune 100.
Customer Success
Tasktop conducted a successful Technical Account Management pilot program in the first half of the year and followed up on that success by staffing a Customer Success department. The goal of the team is to partner with select accounts to bring them a defined technical advocate and trusted advisor to ensure its customers get the most value out of their Tasktop solution. In a second initiative, Tasktop created a new VSM consulting practice, noted above, led by DeArdo.
Research
Tasktop’s research of 300 of the largest U.S. enterprises revealed that many are now extending process automation beyond continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) in order to accelerate software delivery and time-to-market. In fact, 40 percent of them have connected or plan to connect four or more tools in the design and development stages that precede CI/CD. Meanwhile, 70 percent of organizations are integrating at least three tools and four artifacts.
In addition, a May 2018 report from Forrester (Elevate Agile-Plus-DevOps With Value Stream Management by Christopher Condo and Diego Lo Giudice) noted: “Practicing value stream management (VSM) allows companies to make their Agile plus development and operations (DevOps) development environments into real digital business drivers. With VSM, organizations implementing Agile-plus-DevOps will better understand the value they deliver, the efficiencies they gain, and the further optimization possibilities for each software product in their delivery pipeline.” The report further noted that “Tasktop provides integration capabilities across a broad range of DevOps tooling — a core VSM capability that enables traceability, visibility, and connections between the people, process, and technology.”
In August 2018, The Forrester New Wave™: Value Stream Management Tools, Q3 2018 by Christopher Condo and Bill Seguin cited Tasktop as a strong performer in Value Stream Management (VSM) Tools. The report noted that “Tasktop is a best fit for companies that want a best-of-breed DevOps stack. Tasktop aims to integrate and coordinate value streams across your DevOps stack from ideation to production, but it will leave domain-specific work to other specialized tools.”
Product
In the first half of FY 2018, Tasktop augmented its Tasktop Integration Hub with an integration with Intland’s codeBeamer ALM, an application lifecycle management tool that enables teams to manage their requirements, software development, testing and quality assurance, risk management, variants management and more. Other new connections in FY 2018 included PTC Integrity, Git and Sparx Pro Cloud Server.
Tasktop continues innovating at the pace of partners like ServiceNow®, whose London release adds support for customers’ SAFe 4.5 initiatives. Tasktop's customers can immediately adopt these new capabilities by connecting ServiceNow to the tools Agile teams are already using, such as Atlassian Jira and Microsoft Azure DevOps (formerly Team Foundation Server).
